With 20 years experience in the teacher profession, I have overseen the growth of the computing department. I manage a team of 5 teachers, whom I have personally trained. With a focus on making the subject available for all abilities, we ensure that our students reach and raise their academic potential, who are fit for the future workplace as active and responsible participants of the wider global community. I have overseen many changes in the curriculum over the last 20 years, but the core principal feature that I have ensured is ever present is FUN. This has seen the number of students taking GCSE and A Level Computing, as an option, increase year in year. The Computing department enters a very large number of students into the examinations year on year, making us one of largest Computing departments in the country.
