My work with Bear has involved work in the field, as well as map production. In the field, I have assisted the engineer in water quality analysis, soil sampling, and spatial data collection (i.e., well/pit locations, flow direction, land use zoning, etc.). While not in the field, I am contracted to produce various thematic maps for inclusion in the environmental assessment reports. I have been involved in several large projects and have produced many maps in the process.

Initially hired on contract to conduct an Inflow & Infiltration study on behalf of the City of Rossland. The work primarily entailed data collection attained through interviews with homeowners regarding the occurrence of groundwater, drainage issues and subsequent property impacts. Collected data was then input into GIS software and a correlating map book. Upon completion of the project, I was reassigned at a part time capacity to the company’s GIS group and worked on a project involving QC and attribute population of an extensive line network representing multi-use trails within various recreation areas, georeferencing transit maps and digitizing routes within ArcGIS, and metadata creation. Following these projects, I was hired on full-time and worked on numerous GIS and civil engineering projects in both ArcGIS and AutoCAD. I was also trained and became proficient at land surveying,with GPS and Trimble Total Station.
