When you’re in hospitality, product and service consistency are critical to the profitability of the site, but so is the peace of mind that comes with the right strategic advice and systems. One of the bigest challenges I found, was dealing with an accounts department that did not understand the inner workings of the hospitality trade. This lack of data meant I had to develop my own tracking systems which I have upgraded over the years and used in numerous sites that I have worked in, in both the independent and chain hotels.Making the change to accountant was a natural progression as the accountants and accounting systems I was working with, did not give me the information I needed or wanted, as they did not understand the inner workings of hospitality. With my newly acquired acreditation from AAT I am looking to enhance my skill base either in a accountancy practice or in the accounts department of an independent hotel or chain.
