Richard joined AYH (which then became part of ARCADIS) as an Associate QS in June 2007. Richard currently works in the Arcadis Thames Water Developer Services Major Projects Team. In addition to providing Quantity Surveying services, Richard has a strong focus on Health & Safety - ensuring team compliance and innovation in the approach to SHEQ.Prior to this appointment he was a Senior Managing Quantity Surveyor for ten years with a small Quantity Surveying company responsible for providing Quantity Surveying services to Orange Personal Communication Services nationwide in the UK. In this managing QS role he grew the commission from just 50% of the sites in the Midlands to 100% of the sites nationwide. This was done through providing first class, innovative services and an excellent personal working relationship with the client. Richard has worked on a number of projects including the high profile Crossrail project.During the seven years working with Thames, Richard has become familiar with the TW EES estimating system, SAP, NRSWA, WIA and DAD calculations on projects of varying size.Richard has also worked with Southern Water in Sussex, developing knowledge of BAS, Business Collaborator, CEMAR and PIM.Richard was also appointed as SHE Co-Ordinator, responsible for ensuring his team’s (numbering 30+) compliance with Health & Safety training, and sharing information regarding all aspects of Health & Safety.Recently, Richard has completed Arcadis training to be an Internal Auditor.With over 30 years’ experience in Professional Quantity Surveying, Richard has had a traditional training enhanced with a two year period working as a PQS on site.Richard also has a breadth of experience providing bespoke cost consultancy and project management support services in the Leisure and Telecoms sectors. He is also an experienced, knowledgeable H&S Coordinator.
