Richard Nilsson was Of Counsel at Goodell DeVries from 2004 until his retirement from the practice of law in 2019. Previously, he had practiced law for over 15 years as staff counsel for Fireman's Fund Insurance Company. His practice included the defense of automobile and general liability negligence cases, including those involving serious injury. He represented defendants in lead paint litigation. Rick also represented the manufacturers of a wide variety of products, including household items and appliances, pharmaceuticals, and heavy machinery in the defense of product liability lawsuits. During his career, he also defended surveyors, engineers and insurance agents in malpractice actions. In his first decade, Rick was engaged in the general practice of law, focusing primarily upon motor vehicle and workers' compensation claims, general tort litigation, and the representation of those involved in domestic and criminal matters.
