Since retiring from the Australian Federal Police, I have been overseeing the Company and engaged in various consulting engagements. It was a dramatic change from the prior 28 years in the Australian Federal Police. Over the past 8 years I have been involved in Professional Services and Government and Commercial Investigations. I have held specific roles in each of these fields which have provided me with strong skills to lead complex engagements. My career has been focused on establishing relationships, partnerships and contractual comprehension of the Australian Public Sector. I have led investigation teams for various sectors. During my 28years of policing service I obtained a thorough and comprehensive knowledge of the laws relating to community policing. I am also completely aware of the legislative framework with which the Attorney Generals Department, ACT Corrective Services operates. I believe I have demonstrated the ability to be able to identify and respond to the requirements of the agency on a working day to day basis. During my service as a Commissioned Officer I was responsible for the development and implementation of strategic policies, which would affect those under my direct command and the community. Under my direction staff analysed and reported upon matters pertaining to the effective running of the region and through consultation, policies were developed and implemented which addressed community issues.My operational police career I was clearly able to demonstrate my ability to motivate and encourage staff under my direction supervision and control. I was responsible for the operational command of 470 officers who provided with standard objectives for the effective policing of the ACT Region. I was also responsible for providing the personal development for each of these officers within the ACT Region in order for them to develop within the Australian Federal Police.The Australian Federal Police underwent a radical and major organisational change during the time that I was a commissioned officer. I was intricately involved and assisted in the implementation of such programs as Rank re-structuring, which required devolution of accountability and flattening of the rank structure.
