Nile Fresh Produce was one of the first commercial farming operations in Southern Sudan, originally set up by an ASX listed mining company.• Organised and facilitated visits to the farm for the US Ambassador to Sudan, Chief of Party USAID, and representatives from the NRC.• Provided leadership and dispute resolution under situations of extreme duress, including armed threats from paramilitary, disease (dysentery, malaria) and severe floods.• Managed the farm into profitability by reducing costs through supply chain efficiencies and increasing revenues by introducing higher margin crops.• Improved quality of life of workers by installing solar power and water filtration systems, building better living quarters and supplying workers with updated safety and work equipment.
