Richard spent much of his time growing up in Northern Saskatchewan. Upon graduating from High School, Richard operated Heavy Equipment such as road graders and gravel trucks working for Department of Highways. He also worked one summer in construction, doing concrete work and carpentry. He obtained his commercial pilots license when he was 18, and flew bush planes in the north for several years. The work including flying for mines, fire fighters, and fishing lodges. He then moved to Kinistino, SK in 1992 and began flying and fixing harvest equipment. Richard has his Journeyman Ag tech certificate, and still holds a valid commercial pilot's license. He has worked in the Ag industry in various roles, including technician, warranty manager, and currently service manager.
