Richard has worked in film for a half-century. His credits include work as an editor, postproduction supervisor and consultant on features, documentaries, industrials, music videos and commercials.Richard's film collaborations have been official selections to many international film festivals, including: Aspen, Barcelona, Berlin, Cannes, the Hamptons, Karlovy Vary, London, Montreal, Rotterdam, Tel Aviv, Tokyo, and Toronto.Those collaborations have been honored with an Outstanding Documentary Award by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, an Andy Award, a Clio Award, and Best Short at the 2013 Princeton Environmental Film Festival.Other honors include: Screenwriting Judge for the Nicholl Fellowships, and a Distinguished Artist-Teacher Award from the School of Visual Arts.Richard's 2010 publication -a celebration of movie-going- "Illuminations: Memorable Movie Moments", was a finalist for the 2011 Best Moving Image Book Award; and was selected to the permanent collection of Britain's National Media Museum.Richard has taught workshops, and seminars at the New School University, Film/Video Arts and Pratt Institute. He currently teaches The Art of Editing at the School of Visual Arts, where he is an undergraduate thesis advisor, and a faculty member in the MPS Live Action Short Film program.Richard has taught, THE AESTHETICS of EDITING, (via Jabber) for the Film Department of Griffith University in Brisbane, Australia.Richard's articles have appeared in Student Filmmakers Magazine, www.fylmz.com and www.writersstore.com.
