He joined Oxford Outcomes as a senior health economist in 2006, from a position as a Senior Scientist in the Mathematical Modelling and Economics Unit of the Health Protection Agency’s Centre for Infections, in the UK. Whilst at the HPA, Richard held a joint position at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, where he lectured on dynamic modelling and infectious disease control.Richard previously worked at Oxford University and Imperial College.Areas of expertiseRichard has extensive experience in the epidemiology, burden of illness and mathematical modelling of infectious diseases, particularly relating to the cost effectiveness of interventions and policy issues. Disease areas include influenza, SARS, tuberculosis, directly transmitted childhood infections, vector borne diseases and HIV.
