Richard Pook is an experienced Team Leader and economist with a civil engineering background. He has wide experience of financial and economic appraisal of commercial, industrial, urban development, infrastructure and environmental projects including analysis in Britain and overseas. His assignments have a strong focus on water, wastewater and solid waste management, financial and economic analysis of urban infrastructure projects, and institutional development of public sector organisations.His special areas of competence and expertise include:• Skilled Team Leader• Financial and economic appraisal of urban development, infrastructure and environmental projects• Cost-benefit analysis • Cost recovery/user tariffs studies for urban public services (especially in water supply and waste water management)• Organisational development in the public sector He has held senior management positions in both private and public sector organisations in the UK and overseas including being general manager of a parastatal company in Zambia set up to provide consultancy services to the Zambian vegetable oil industry. Prior to this he held senior management and economic analyst positions in several British companies following completion of an MBA course at the Cranfield School of Management.Prior to this, Mr Pook worked first as an engineer with British Rail and the Crown Agents, and later as an economist with the Crown Agents in the Middle East, Africa and the Caribbean.
