About Richard Prusa

Richard Prusa was born in Czechoslovakia and migrated to Australia in 1983 at the age of 10. Educated in Adelaide, he stumbled across agriculture by chance whilst travelling and working his way around Australia in the early 90’s. Richard began his tertiary studies in Ag Science with Adelaide University at their Roseworthy campus as a full time student in 1994 and completed his studies via the external mode with Melbourne University at the Dookie and Glenormiston campuses. Richard worked as a diary hand and share farmer for 4 years with his wife and then travelled around the world in 1998/99. Upon his return he began work with IAMA as a junior agronomist working with both dryland cropping and irrigated dairy farming growers. Since then Richard has worked as an agronomist and territory manager for a number of seed companies and rural retail stores including, AWB, Elders, Landmark & Seed Distributors. In 2010 Richard took on the role as Business Development manager with Seedmark and has continued with Heritage Seeds post the acquisition as Product Development manager. A change in management provided an opportunity for Richard to take on the role of Portfolio Manager, providing vertically alligned support from R&D through the entire value chain for both the Lucerne and Tropical portfolio. Recently Richard has joined the RAGT group (formerly Seed Force Australia) as Technical Product Development Manager-Forage. Richard lives in country S.A halfway between Langhorne Creek and Strathalbyn with his wife and three children and loves his everyday challenges. A hippy at heart, a growing hungry world gets him going everyday.
