I was hired by Mori as a sub contractor for a Lockheed Martin NISC contract. This contract brought me back to the F.A.A. to continue support of the AVS Dashboard system. I was immediately tasked with rebuilding the legacy Dashboard system on a new server. I brought this system back on-line within 48 hours of my hiring. I then maintained the software on this new server. When I was brought on I trained the individuals who would help me with administering the application. I am currently the leader of the project. I manage one employee who acts as my backup. This includes budget & employment numbers, org charts, project statuses, EEO and AB numbers, and more.I worked on an exploratory committee to find if an alternative product that is offered off the shelf would provide more functionality then our current custom build system. Our team helped develop the requirements and I worked with vendors arranging several meetings and demos of their products. This process is still ongoing.Managing the site involves maintenance and updates on two Dell IIS web server machines. This site's primary function is to keep the AVS department of the FAA informed about current action items. A bi-monthly meeting is held where the executive staff briefs the head of AVS, using the Dashboard site, about what is happening in their divisions.We took this custom application through several design changes. We adjusted the code to provide better functionality and easier use. We created templates that would allow the users to provide their content in a uniform fashion and created an easy submission process to assure user training would be minimal.I either created or edited all the documentation for the system including the administrator’s guide, the user guide, and the tracking report.The application served over a thousand users and I addressed the calls and e-mails of any users who were having trouble with the system. I setup backup protocols to ensure that not only could the Dashboard system be brought back up from a crash, but the backups provided users to go back in time to get older versions of the documents they worked with.We created a GIS module for the site that allowed users to added points of data on a map and display their content with a location based search. I created the help files for this module and the documentation that accompanied it. Managing the site involves maintenance and updates on two Dell IIS web server machines.
