SiGenix is a product development engineering consulting firm that was recognized as the top consulting firm in Western PA having won the Pittsburgh Technology Council Rising Star Award in 2007. As CEO, Mr. Riggio grew the firm’s revenues ($0.2 to $2.1 million), client base (three to 25), and staff (one to six engineers and two support staff) over his nine year tenure.

Respironics designs and manufactures sleep equipment including CPAP machines, ventilators, and monitoring equipment. Mr. Riggio was responsible for developing small, inexpensive medical grade switching power supplies as well as microprocessor based control boards for several CPAP and ventilator products.

Bombardier Transportation is a leading provider of people mover and mass transit systems. Mr. Riggio was integral in the development of the GEATRAC/GEALOC PC Board platforms, which were used in a multitude of transit systems globally. In his final position at Bombardier, he led a team of six engineers responsible for developing a 40KW, 3PH Inverter and a 10KW Low Voltage Power Supply, both of which were in service on Bay Area Rapid Transit vehicles for 25 years. During his tenure, Mr. Riggio earned four U.S. patents.

Electric Boat develops and manufactures nuclear submarines for the US Navy. As a project engineer, Mr. Riggio developed an emergency air breathing system and was awarded the Extraordinary Engineering Achievement Award for his work in superconductivity.
