Director and Owner at SpecStudio, providing Specification Consultancy services to Architects.Richard has 30 years’ experience in construction and Architecture, with 24 years working alongside, or directly for Architects supporting them with Specification Consulting services on major projects worldwide. Richard has managed the delivery of hundreds of project specifications in the UK, Ireland and the Middle East covering a diverse range of sectors.As a former Equity Partner at Davis Langdon Schumann Smith, Richard led the Specification Consulting service line for the UK and Ireland, setting up completely new teams and offices in Manchester and Dublin to service clients’ needs in their local markets, in addition to the London office.He then managed the DLSS teams transition to AECOM until 2014, when he joined SimpsonHaugh Architects as Commercial Partner leading on their commercial and operational delivery whilst gaining invaluable experience of the 'business' side of Architecture. In 2021 Richard joined his old colleagues for the next chapter of digital specification delivery: SpecStudio.At SpecStudio, in addition to delivering projects, Richard heads up the office and leads our commercial /contract functions ensuring services are delivered to the highest standards that reflect clients’ requirements.
