Environmental+climate advocacy leading regulatory and legislative campaigns that have strengthened ocean conservation law, led successful ban on fracking in NYS, bans on PFAS in food containers and firefighting foam, helped passage of landmark Climate Act, largest statewide increase of SNAP benefits for purchase of local produce, passage of legislation mandating all electric heat in new construction and led fight for the passage of the nation's first ivory sales ban. Also worked on successful efforts to fund+create NY SUN/billion dollar solar investment, multi-year energy efficiency investments, off shore wind siting projects, and clean water infrastructure projects. Worked in successful campaign to divest oil+gas assets from the NYS Common Retirement Fund and campaigns to stop both the Northern Access Pipeline and the Williams Pipeline across several states. Fought the chemical industry to enact a successful first in the nation campaign to eliminate toxic neonic pesticide use on corn and soy seeds as well as prohibiting use of toxic flame retardants in furniture and electronic casings in computers.

Managed and supervised enforcement team with a staff of over 400 investigators and regulatory personnel. Led law enforcement campaigns against businesses selling tobacco products to underage kids; also led successful enforcement effort that dismantled criminal gas station ring that price gouged drivers in illegal multi-million dollar scheme throughout the tri-state region. Worked to pass law to strengthen consumer protections from debt collectors/led numerous enforcement actions against criminally violent network of predatory debt collectors, stripping them of their NYC licenses. Led successful enforcement campaigns against price gouging ticket brokers and deceptive business practices of multinational financial services corporations. Served on the joint agency task force that wrote NYC's first commercial recycling regulations.

Managed intergovernmental, legal, enforcement, investigative and licensing departments. Wrote or co-wrote investigative reports on NYC area garbage haulers, tow truck companies, street vendors, debt collectors, the oil heating industry, school yard equipment safety and the mutual fund industry.

Led successful campaigns to raise workers compensation rates, expand OSHA protections, protect construction workers from serious hazards, protect individual's right to jury trials, oppose cap on pain+suffering awards. Led campaign in opposition to the death penalty. Assisted and supported creation of Agent Orange Settlement Fund.

Led successful statewide campaign to expand inexpensive, clean energy Power Authority sales to public buildings; worked on unsuccessful campaign to expand Power Authority's role in power production in the Northeast region; worked on successful campaign shutting down Shoreham nuclear plant; worked on campaign that passed national Crude Oil Windfall Profits Tax; assisted in organizing landmark 1979 Battery Park City no nukes rally; helped pass early energy efficiency funding and financial assistance for seniors and low income consumers; previously lobbied NY/NJ/CT Congressional delegations in support of federal 1972 Clean Water Act.
