Statoil Mariner Huc Project

Initially accountable for the safety & welfare of Aker Solutions’ personnel constructing the electrical & mechanical systems for nine topside modules in South Korea during a period of increasing political tensions with North Korea. Later transitioned offshore to support the Mariner Project Director & Construction Manager for the hook-up & commissioning (HUC) stages.• Assisted with writing the platform safety case & combined operations plan with regular input.• Formed a ‘War Room’ to deliver large volumes of project data & work through risk/expectation.• Developed Statoil’s Safe Systems of Work initiative to manage issuing & auditing permits.• Assessed Offshore HSE Advisors capabilities; developed & delivered relevant training material. • Assisted the HSE Manager with interviews & selection of 16 HSE Advisors.• Demonstrated effective HSE leadership skills to mentor & encourage the HSE Advisors.• Oversaw the safe installation of radioactive sources into separators & vessels.• Initiated various initiatives to reduce costs & improve safety.

Initially deployed aboard the Stena Clyde, a semi-submersible drilling unit off the coast of Australia. Having witnessed a serious incident, purposefully steered my career towards HSE.
