I am a Secretary of the Interior qualified Senior Archaeologist/Principal Investigator/Project Manager. I have been involved in archaeological research since 1987, beginning with an archaeological field school at the San Diego Royal Presidio, under the direction of Dr. Brad Bartel. I have been employed in Cultural Resources Management since 1989. My experience in CRM archaeology includes numerous surveys, testing and mitigation programs, monitoring programs, and other research agendas. My participation in these programs range from field crew, Crew Chief, Field Director, Principal Investigator, and Project Manager. I have successfully implemented the requirements of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA), as well as requirements of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) guidelines, and the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA). I am also experienced with integrating archaeological theory and principles with Native American concerns for site protection.In addition to participating as Logistics Coordinator and occasional survey lead for the San Diego region of the Society for California Archaeology-sponsored Sea Level Rise Coastal Survey, I have a general faunal, as well as extensive lithic and shell analysis background. I also have experience in successfully conducting projects in remote, and extreme environments, with little support, and for extended periods of time.
