My career in the HVACR field started when I was sixteen years old and studying at Davies Vocational/Technical High School in the HVAC Program. I have spent 40 years in the HVACR field as a service technician working on a wide variety of equipment from municipal pools to ice skating rinks, ice build systems for air conditioning in large commercial buildings and gas fired boilers up to 3.5 million btus per hour and everything in-between. In late 1999, I became the Service Manager of Royal Engineering and was in charge of eight service technicians. My responsibilities included technical support, scheduling, emergency service scheduling and safety. Early in my career, I was asked to teach a night program and accepted the challenge and spent almost fifteen years teaching part time. In early 2009, i started working on my degree so that I could make teaching my full time job and was soon hired by the Chariho School system as an instructor in their HVACR Program. I am currently continuing course work to obtain my bachelors degree and still work as a technician in the HVACR field in the summer time. Times change and things aren't always what you expected. After five plus years of rewarding work as a Career and Tech Teacher, I am back to doing what I love. Finding and repairing problems, as well as expanding my knowledge. I am a senior service tech for a large mechanical contractor and loving it. Solving problems is what gives me a sense of accomplishment.
