About Richard Simmonds
Richard Simmonds joined Waterman as Divisional Director in January 2004. He has overall technical and financial responsibility for all projects in the London office transportation and development division encompassing development infrastructure, transportation, drainage, highways and flood risk. He has twenty eight years’ experience of highways, infrastructure, transportation and development projects. He was promoted to Regional Director in January 2013.Graduating from Southampton University in 1983 he joined Frank Graham and Partners traffic modelling team. He continued gaining experience in transportation development with Mouchel from 1984. Here he also gained bridge design and power station experience before being posted to Qatar on a variety of highways, transport and development projects. He returned to the UK in 1989 and gained Chartered status with the ICE in 1992. Richard joined TPK Consulting as Associate Partner in 1998. TPK became part of the RPS Group in 2000 at which time he was made Technical Director responsible for all highways and infrastructure work undertaken within the Newbruy office.
