Responsible for creation and maintenance of an AWS native data lake and warehouse architecture in support of operations and analysis.

Soaren is an AWS shop, operating in the financial world. My responsibilities touch on all aspects of their OLTP and OLAP databases (architecture, integrity, recovery, technologies used, etc.). The company is scoping various technical solutions to technical debt, datalake and data warehouse solutions.Technologies: AWS LakeFormation, Glue, Redshift, RDS's: Aurora, MySql and MariaDb

Manifest Medex is a non-profit that operates in the health care sector, and an AWS shop. I was brought on to help them architect and build out their data warehouse in Redshift, and assist in creating the ETL from a DataBricks datalake to feed it.

HMS Eliza processes health care data. I was brought on to support their web hosted databases.Since joining, work has touched on various support duties: Aurora (MySQL), Cassandra (NoSQL), Redshift and Microsoft/SSMS machines have needed administration. One major project involved a migration of most systems to another AWS region. For that there was plenty of work outside of the database machines: The group was responsible for establishing its own security, alerts and logging (CloudWatch, SQS/SES, Security Groups, etc.). That was much like my experience in the Mass Clean Energy Center, where we migrated our entire system to Azure.

I was brought on to administrate and plan the growth of databases, used by a new group, within a larger organization. The Data Analytics team is responsible for mining existing data, building web applications, and producing reports that reach into all aspects of the parent company's business. In this role my time is split fairly evenly between creation/planning of database architecture for OLTP's and warehouses, maintenance of the primary server, optimization of team members' queries, and ETL functions. It is almost like working in a small corporation, in so far as flexibility and speed of response to issues. However, the larger organization, from which most of the source data originates, is very large indeed. We are a dedicated agile team, and use Microsoft DevOps to manage our software life cycle.

I work for the Production Tracking group. The production of energy by a host of alternative means is tracked in SQL database on a month-to-month basis. My primary duties revolve around: Creation and tuning of ad hoc queries, stored procedures and reports.Monitoring and improving performance of SSMS's interaction with IIs, Server 2012, and SMTP service.Migration to new servers and service (always a team effort!): We've moved from local servers wiith SQL 2008 R2 to web servers and SQL 2014. We are in process of going to Azure and 2016! Development of website improvements and database architecture, Roll-out of semi-monthly releases, Creation of procedures, and Testing and documentation around the releases and/or data changes..

Velocys is a chemical reactor development company that specializes in microchannel reactors.At Velocys, my primary responsibility was to develop, carry out, and present the data for experiments informing the design of new and existing reactors. Additionally, my position involved process control programming (National Instrument, Red Lion) and design, and demonstration, installation and support of reactors purchased or created in partnership with some of the largest food, pharmaceutical, chemical manufacturing and energy companies in the world.

Starting as a Research Chemist, and eventually moving up to Senior. Trouble-shot manufacturing issues on the primary product. Created QC methods and protocols. Coordinated and trained staff of two on-site labs. A major project in support of transitioning the laboratories into an ISO 9000 certified environment was the ground-up creation of a laboratory information system database. I programmed it to interface with the inventory database, ant to carry forward the analysis data during the entire manufacturing process. The LIMS held analytical results, compared them against specs, generated and then archived the certificates of analysis for over 700 specialty products. Database architecture, desktop interfaces, transformation and security were all original and customized for the facilit, though admittedly informed by other, popular products that were too limited for the plant's needs. Since the specialty nature of the products involved customizing mixing of each lot to obtain the desired specifications, the system was used by the sales, manufacturing and management departs as well as the labs and QA departments. I created a customized front end for each department.

Working at the only (at the time) A2LA accredited lab in N. America, I moved from the HPLC, to wet chemistry, to GC/MS laboratories. The lab works with infant formulas and interol products which require all the documentation associated with the pharma industries. The lab was liscensed for EPA work in multiple states, as well.

Dr. Michaels studies the ecological adaptation of plants in niche environments by comparing morphological expression with genetic diversion. The Research Assistant's position was to isolate, amplify and sequence DNA of plants. Dr. Michaels' performed statistical analysis of the DNA, and traced incredibly different morphologies to common ancestry.
