Providing strategic communications and stakeholder engagement advice and support to clients across the public and private sectors. Involvement in significant infrastructure projects covering energy transmission, defence and environment.

In this position I am delivering an above and below the line national communications campaign to support significant deregulation reforms. The role involves a range of strategic communications and contract management activities including communications strategy development and implementation, content development and promotion.An important part of the role involves building and managing relationships with stakeholders including Federal Government, state and territory governments and industry bodies.

In this extremely fast-paced role I was responsible for cultivating and fostering relationships with a wide range of stakeholders - both internal and external - to ensure vital COVID-19 messaging reached a diverse range of target audiences. The COVID-19 situation changes rapidly, and I liaised regularly with both government and non-government partners to identify opportunities to inform the public, businesses and vulnerable sections of the community about safely navigating the pandemic.

My return to the Department from the Minister's Office saw me continue my communications work, particularly in the area of strategic reform. With much work being done at the Branch level, my communications strategies ensured staff are aware of reform updates, good news stories and available resources. Communications channels include all-staff emails, newsletters, posters and intranet content. I also managed the CASG Ministerial team, with responsibility for CASG's parliamentary workflow, including ministerial submissions, responses to ministerial correspondence, meetings, visits and event briefs, Question Time Briefs, and responses to Questions on Notice.

In this high-profile position, I worked within the office of the Minister for Defence Industry, Christopher Pyne MP. I provided strategic advice, problem solving skills and issues management for the Minister’s Office and internal and external stakeholders. I also maintained productive and effective working relationships between the Minister’s Office and the Department.This was a very high-pressure role where timeliness and accuracy were paramount, as was successfully managing a large number of concurrent tasks and exercising significant professional judgement.

In this role, I was responsible for all communications activities for the 6,500-strong Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (and its predecessor the Defence Materiel Organisation) within the Department of Defence. Tasks included providing advice to the Executive, internet and intranet content,production of a quarterly magazine, production of printed and electronic materials and an annual program of staff forums across the country.For 2 1/2 years between 2013 and 2016 I acted as Director Media and Communications, in charge of all media and communications activity for the group, as well as managing and leading a team of communications professionals.

As a senior member of the AFP marketing communications team I was responsible for the development, production and implementation of numerous internal marketing and communication strategies and projects. I also oversaw major external campaigns including National Missing Persons Week and International Missing Children’s Day.

In this short-term contract, I was brought in specifically to project manage a two-day national conference held in Canberra in March 2010. This brought together 150 regional representatives from around the country, along with senior political and government stakeholders. It was my responsibility to co-ordinate activities and resources to produce an event of Ministerial standard. My duties included:• Evaluating and securing conference and dinner venues, audio-visual suppliers, accommodation houses and transport providers• Providing details of suitable speakers for the conference, including negotiating fees and terms for external speakers to attend • High-level written work including correspondence, reports, briefings and event related documentation • Adherence to strict event budgets, including regular reporting on budget levels

In this 12-month contract as a senior member of the Marketing Communications team, I delivered quality customer service to internal and external customers by:• Developing and implementing creative communication solutions, including media and public relations strategies, to both internal and external customers • Ensuring high levels of team performance through effective teamwork and communication• Responding to enquiries concerning corporate donations and sponsorships, and maintaining a database of annual sponsorship commitments• Establishing and maintaining effective and productive working relationships with internal staff of all levels, key stakeholders, contractors and Department of Defence representatives• Providing specialist advice and support to the Sales and Marketing Branch, as well as to DHA’s key business areas
