 Directed “design for manufacturing” and “design for assembly” workshops for the GM Truck Group. Directed cross functional teams of product engineers, product designers, manufacturing engineers and UAW personnel. Typically 8-15 persons. $55 million reduction in tool build and maintenance costs for 2000 and 2001 by improving Manufacturability, decreased complexity and reduced maintenance costs. Managed the design, build and tryout activities for sheet metal stamping dies. Responsible for project costs, timing and buy-off. Tryout activities included managing the following resources: press time, die makers, machine repairmen, tinsmiths, millwrights, and production personnel. Chaired project meetings between product design, quality engineering, manufacturing engineering and plant production personnel to facilitate a seamless and timely transition from design to production.  Extensive experience in the manufacture of class A, class B and “black” metal components. Managed the APQP, PPAP and REDBOOK processes. Point of contact of senior management for cost and timing. Experienced in estimating and quoting from process sheets and quote (SOR) packages.  Directed the development (design, build and installation) of GM’s first robotic press load application. Actively served on the GM pressroom standardization committee.Supervisor / Senior Mfg. Engineer Successfully managed a team of engineers and trades personnel (70 total) that automated 13 stamping press lines. Included directing the design, build, installation and tryout of 13 destackers, 140+ press loaders/unloaders, 50+ pieces of transfer equipment, quick die change equipment and press rehabilitations. $50 million project was on time and under budget. Directed the development of lean cellular flexible welding cells used to assemble engine cradles. Resulted in significantly lower tooling cost on future programs.

 Co-founder of LubeZone Corporation. Developed strategic partnership between LubeZone Corp., Marathon Oil Company (Speedway Truck stops), Pennzoil Corp. and Baldwin Corp. This partnership positioned LubeZone to be the dominant player in the $2 billion commercial oil change market. Hired, trained and mentored all managers and assistance managers.  Implemented lean principles, Kanban inventory control and S.O.P.’s .
