My career in construction began in 1980 when I took up a carpentry apprenticeship. In 1988, I began work with a Sydney builder who, after completing a number of projects for them in Sydney and Tasmania, offered me a site manager role in Papua New Guinea based in Port Moresby, Lae, Mt Hagen and Porgera. I remained in this position for nine years working on a number of commercial, residential, mining and infrastructure projects for multinational corporations, JV companies, and the Australian High Commission. Following this, I first returned to Sydney before moving back to Queensland and settling in Brisbane for the next 20 years, working as a Site Manager and Construction Manager on commercial, retail, industrial and multi-residential projects in Brisbane, Gold Coast, Bargara, Mackay and Western QLD. In 2017, I moved to NSW’s Central Coast when I joined North as a senior project manager working on numerous high-profile infrastructure projects in Newcastle, particularly the Newcastle Light Rail Depot and Stops, and Museum Park/Civic Station Heritage projects. I became construction manager and company shareholder in 2019. In 2021, I made the decision to relocate back to Brisbane for personal reasons where I have established a North office and am overseeing our expansion in the SE QLD region.
