My recent role designing heavy specialized vehicles includes the design and development of fire trucks, ambulances and service trucks. These complex products are highly regulated and are designed to meet stringent State & Federal legislation as well as meeting comprehensive industry codes of practice for OH&S, performance and ergonomics.I have the drive, enthusiasm and tenacity to continue to build upon the foundations of my former engineering roles and I believe my wide-ranging engineering & manufacturing experience gives me the flexibility and vision to deliver innovative solutions and to be a valued team member.The design and drafting work that I have completed throughout my career covers the creation of concepts, the detailed and assembly drawings of fabricated parts and assemblies and whole vehicle layouts within an ISO9001 environment.I successfully and independently manage the timely completion of concurrent design projects including fire trucks, ambulances, service trucks and x-ray vehicles and their sub systems - interspersed with design reviews and vehicle life extension projects. I have had significant exposure to a wide variety of manufacturing technologies suited to both low and high production volumes.I have worked collaboratively in roles interpreting ambiguous customer requirements and developing documentation to support the submission and assessment of tenders.I am an experienced user of Autodesk Inventor CAD package and have used this software to develop and prove designs using FEA and to produce clear engineering drawings, BOM’s & work instructions. I have also utilized MS Office tools including MS Word and Excel to write operating instructions and maintenance manuals for those products.I have an UK Automotive Industry background and have used various quality assurance tools, such as APQP & FMEA, throughout my career to ensure the final product is one to be proud of.
