SETUP DEPARTMENT AS TROUBLESHOOTER AND DIE SETTER 1996-2000As Troubleshooter led $40,000 / shift diecast productions of 6-10 operators while monitoring, maintaining and repairing row's machinery.Typical work included: > Tracing, locating, & correcting machine, die, or process issues to maintain quality -- involved on the spot diagnosis and resolution of machine and die issues > Generating die cast machine process changes > Setting up cell machinery: robots, lubbers, trim presses > Working with engineers on Sample Runs, Die & Machine Tryouts > Using knowledge, judgment, and opinion to coordinate operations and communications between management, engineering, inspection, and skilled trades.As Die Setter transferred, changed out, & set dies (& trim presses) throughout the plant.Work included: > Initial process setup > Die to DCM connections: electric, hydraulic, water, pneumatic > Installing shot sleeves & shot bars & shot tips & ejector bolts > Change out of slides, units, trim press nests > Operation of boom & fork trucks, & overhead cranes in conjunction with Rigging techniques.
