30+ years as a clinical podiatrist working in New Zealand and England I have moved from doing sports podiatry patient management by using orthotic therapy as a base line treatment to trying to dissolve the use of these unless only necessary. Treatment modalities used include manual therapy, strengthening programmes, patient directed strapping and exercise/movement modification.I have presented at conferences, day seminars and present workshops on manual therapy techniques for the foot and ankle as well as work for Foot Science International taking their entering the footzone courses.
