Creating and developing a team to deliver first-class service to customers around the world. I lead a multi-disciplined team of Commercial, Operations, Engineering and Service personnel to deliver a range of aftermarket products. Through the Service team, we deliver ~£11m of complex manufactured Spare Parts, Onsite and Remote Service Support, Installation & Commissioning and Upgrade packages for existing equipment. As Head of the department, it is my responsibility to grow the business in line with and above the business objectives. Additionally, I am part of the site leadership team and function lead for the group utilising the combined resources across the Mpac world to deliver a consistent approach.

To head our Services commercial team to strategically develop, deliver and grow our service portfolio, develop customer partnerships and grow a successful and sustainable revenue stream.

Responsible for all elements of Rotork UK’s service business in the UK; I lead a multi-disciplined team, which includes contracts, engineering, service, workshop and administration staff. Within in this role I am responsible for the profit and loss of all service related business equating to around £13m per year.• Lead, manage and motivate the team ensuring maximum accuracy, efficiency and utilisation within the territory.• Set the Growth Strategy and develop a 3-year Business Plan to ensure RUK is maximising the UK Service potential.• Function as an integral part of the RUK management team reporting into the Head of Service for EMEA.• Work to develop improved methodology, processes and shared best practices to ensure that customers receive a first class service response.• Assist with completion of Business Forecast and QPR submission.• Manage team KPI’s and provide monthly reports on performance and continuous improvement plans.• Carry out regular performance conversations and set objectives in line with the overall business plan.• Ensure all Health & Safety requirements are being met at all times.

Working as part of the RSS Sales team I am responsible for the selling and promoting Rotork Site Services, Products and Capabilities throughout the UK. My main area of focus whilst in the role is to grow service work in relation to system integration with our products.As well as completing site visits with clients regarding specific potential contracts and completing comprehensive quotes for submittal; I am also introducing RSS capabilities to a wide range of contractors by delivering 'lunch and learn' sessions as well as hands on practical training.

Overseeing engineering activities across all disciplines to ensure that all contracts are fulfilled in a timely and cost effective manner, whilst delivering improvements to the daily running of the team. The combined value of the contracts which my team were responsible for in my last year was £3.5m.In the role of engineering supervisor I was also required to maintain the responsibilities described within my previous role as a Project Engineer.New responsibilities that I inherited as part of my new role was to:• Review all contracts after order input and distribution throughout the team based on competence and current work load.• Ensure that engineering team are working to company procedures in order to maintain adherence to quality systems such as ISO 9001.• Co-ordinate regular team meeting to review progress of on-going projects as well as disseminate information throughout the team.• Conduct team appraisals and aid in the development of each individual.• Review department performance and procedures. Whilst in the role of Engineering supervisor I had a few notable achievements such as creating a paperless contracts system, which both increased efficiency and ensured that all relevant project data was stored within one location. I also developed a project management tool that is now used on 4 Rotork sites to control the flow of all contracts and keep up-to-date live project progress. This also enhanced our compliance with ISO9001.

Work as part of the engineering team to profitably project manage all aspects of assigned projects, from initial site meetings/surveys through to final completion and invoicing. At anytime I was responsible for overseeing up to 25 projects with values ranging from £5K to £150K.Duties including the following:• Create an understanding with the client as to the full extent of the project to ensure that all expectations were met.• Produce detailed drawings, BOM’s, Risk Assessments, Method Statements and O&M’s.• Source, order and expedite required materials, tools and components for each project ensuring that time scales and budgets were met.• Re-quote customers where changes to the scope of work were required.• Maintain the company’s NICEIC approval as the companies QS by ensuring all extended scope installations comply with current regulations and that relevant documentation is produced.• During site surveys, enquire in relation to new or upcoming work and take the necessary details for the sales team to progress.

Responsible for the electrical design of bespoke high integrity electrically operated cranes within industrial environments as well as other control equipment to support the plant. Projects that I was responsible for were, the design and build of 4 ancillary cranes to support operation of a storage facility within a nuclear environment as well as a shield door control system

I joined Airedale as an apprentice during which time I spent my first 2 years working through all manufacturing departments, were I was responsible for building, wiring, plumbing and testing of various air conditioning units.During my apprenticeship I was seconded to the service department for 6 months were I visited sites all around the UK including the Scottish parliament building and Heathrow Airport Terminal 5 in order to carry out site modifications and perform routine maintenance on Airedale equipment.After working through various office departments such as contracts and technical support, I joined the product development team as an electrical design engineer. In this role I was responsible for all aspects of electrical design for new products due to be released. My main duties were completing the electrical design for prototype units and formalising the documentation in to a usable format for the contracts team.
