Following the creation of Kennedys' Healthcare Division, Richard has stepped back into the role of Head of Kennedys' Liability Division. Richard is responsible for leading on the development and strategy of the Division, alongside an excellent group of partners and other lawyers. The Division's Core Principle is to help Kennedys clients to become more self sufficient, and to only use lawyers when truly necessary. In addition, Richard continues to help lead a team of 40 lawyers, and takes pride in continuing with his main aim of being able to "lawyer" and to deliver excellent legal results to his clients.

Richard was tasked with the creation of and leading on the growth for Kennedys' Liability Division. From a turnover of £6m in 2006 with 2 offices, the Division grew considerably in its geography, turnover and profitability. By 2012 the Division had grown into 8 UK offices with a turnover of £31m and had increased its profitability by 370%. The Division has also developed strong new product lines, and linked to Kennedys' overseas offices. In 2012 Richard decided that it was time to refocus on his clients, his lawyers and his lawyering,and so handed over the role to the truly excellent Janet Sayers.
