At Eton I work on an ad-hoc basis teaching advanced English as a foreign language (C1/C2 level), accent reduction and advanced business principles. My classes range from individual pupils to groups of 15; all adults. For the accent reduction the course is not designed to make the students sound English but more work on pronunciation and phonetics. For the advanced business classes, the content ranges from micro/macro-economic principles to change and risk management. I really enjoy the business classes and I make the content fit in line with their current employment and highlight skills that will be useful for them in the future. I follow the course material, but I also make my classes very interactive and engaging.

Currently providing online English lessons via Skype to students across the globe

At La Fontana I taught three subjects purely in English; Science, Computer Studies and English. I primarily taught grades 5 and 7. This was a much more challenging teaching job as I had to contribute considerably to class planning, syllabus writing and exam creation. In addition I became an important member of the school community; helping to organise events and create and implement advanced English tutoring for the students leaving to university. In addition I taught privately traveling to different clients/ students houses or places of work and teaching them advanced English with a focus on speaking and listening skills. This was rather challenging as all my students were at different levels and had different ambitions for learning English. I quickly devised different methods to incorporate a high level of learning combined with advanced conversation practice. All of my methods and content were tailored to each individual student.

I was in Vietnam teaching English as a foreign language in various schools and English centres in Haiphong. I primarily taught primary school students aged 6 to 12 years old. In addition I also conducted private lessons with adults and advanced students. I also contributed significantly to creating lesson plans and examinations for the schools and the centres; furthermore I took on the responsibility for creating PowerPoint’s and new interactive games for the lessons.
