I am a real estate lawyer with over 30 years of experience. I was a partner at Addleshaw Goddard LLP for 20 years from May 1994 and retired at the end of July 2014. For the last 16 years I worked in the Manchester office, where I led and managed the real estate team for some 10 years. During that period, the team established itself as the premier north west practice, recognised by our clients and peers alike. In that time we won the North West Insider Property Law Firm of the Year award on 3 occasions As part of my role running the team, I was a member of the management committee which ran the national real estate practice at Addleshaw Goddard, one of the largest and most successful practices in the country.In December 2014 I joined Berwins in Harrogate as a consultant on a part time basis.Throughout my career I have acted for clients large and small - private developers, property companies and institutional property investors, covering a whole range of property work – buying, selling, letting, managing & developing commercial property.Chambers UK Guide 2015 contains the following statement: “Richard Wheeldon receives extensive praise from clients.
