Apr 2001 toOct 2014 Holden Aluminium Technologies Managing Director – 12+ years• Initially implementing and building an operating structure to turn the company in to a well-respected, profitable and niche business, that has grown through shrewd investment in to a “can do company” allowing the business to expand in to today’s turnover of circa £5million.• Working for the shareholders who had no input in to the daily business.• Responsible for 75 employees• Ultimately responsible for the sale of the business to Sapa Profiles UK Limited.• During the above period I also lead the acquisition of Hydro Automotive Structures – Worcester, a business with circa £15 million turnover.• Responsible for 125 employees• Sold to Lotus Cars in May 2008• Operations Director• Moved swiftly from this role to Managing Director to run the business as the only working director.• Technical Sales Manager• Responsible for growing the sales and working with potential new customers but moved to the above role after 6 months.

OEM are Manufacturers of Special Purpose tooling in the canning industry, Jigs and Fixtures, CNC milling and turning. Training existing personnel on CNC machines that include Vertical Machining Centres, Turret Mills, and CNC/Manual Lathes. Quoting for jobs, ordering materials etc., with the various paperwork that this entails. Building up a new customer base for work predominantly on CNC machines, organising the work load and all aspects accompanying it. Contacting both existing and new customers to discuss their requirements. Programming 3D and 4th Axis work together with the setting of the machines.

Ajax supplies a wide range of machine tools to a World market. Demonstrate all types of CNC machines that include Large Bed Mills, Vertical Machining Centres, Turret Mills, and CNC/Manual Lathes. Demonstrations of different controls that include a full range of Heidenhain controls including 360, 407, 410, the 426, Anilam 1100 and 3300, and the Fagor 800T, 8050MC, 8055MC and TC controls. Preparation for specialist demonstrations including all tooling and jigging requirements, together with any time studies necessary.  Full customer Training for use of the various Machines and Controls.  Customer support to include answering programming problems, help with technical data, etc. Inputs into Development of new software.

The research and development department provided a specialist tooling and development service for the Group factories World-wide. Design of new products and tools, to programming and setting machines CAM work; maintenance; machining and bench fitting. Introducing new plant to production line, new methods / tools / feeds in high batch machining on NC machinery. Train and assess all apprentices and new staff intake.  Program preparation and management for a range of machine tools including Mikron and Bridgeport Machining Centres with Heidenhain Control, Cincinnati Machining Centre with Fanuc Control. The collection of data and analysis to identify root causes and solve issues. Process planning, preparation and interpretation of engineering drawings.

A five year apprenticeship including day release at Worcester Technical College studying for a T.E.C. in Mechanical and Production Engineering. The remainder of the week spent in the workshop at Darius.
