Upon finishing my graduate studies in Economics in New York, I embarked on an international career managing communications teams for the United Nations, UNICEF, UNDP and the British Foreign Office. I have been to 89 countries in five continents.This experience has taught me to achieve goals under difficult and changing circumstances. To me, thinking out of the box is not an abstraction - it is daily practice honed by years of challenging roles.I have managed teams from 4 to 32 people and budgets up to US$ 3.2 million, and grants from prestigious donors like the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and the government of Japan. The output of the teams I managed have consistently exceeded planned benchmarks both in quantity and quality. At UNICEF I increased the unit output by 62% and generated a US$ 400,000 budget surplus. At the United Nations logistics base in Italy, I oversaw a full branding revamp, and following budget cuts I led the team to increase productivity through motivation and training.There I had an active role in change management and inclusion work groups. I also conceptualized and successfully oversaw the implementation of new internal communications platforms, including an intranet mobile app, collaboration tools and events, and leadership blogs, fostering engagement and interaction. In my roles as senior communications officer and spokesman, I regularly interacted with high level officials and executives, always in a diplomatic and proactive way. I have also participated in worldwide multimedia and social media campaigns, including the United Nations China-led Powering the Future We Want (alternative energy sources) and UNDP fund raising efforts that leveraged over US$ 1.2 billion for reconstruction after cyclone Idai. I also coordinated a high-profile social media campaign for the Zika virus epidemic with 42 million followers and the participation of Mike Zuckerberg. My international career has led me to effectively manage multicultural teams and deal with different cultures and social milieus. I am flexible yet constantly aware of the need to harmonize and mentor staff and contractors to achieve results. I firmly believe in diversity in the workplace and have promoted women to key roles in the organizations I worked.I am also technically savvy: I am an Apple Certified Pro, avid Internet user and learn new software quickly as needed.I am client and results-oriented, work well under pressure, am a team player, have initiative, keep calm and humor, and thrive on challenges.
