Being raised in the UK as a Chinese person has given me a distinct perspective on our current society. I understand the challenges of adapting to a new culture or environment, and as a result, I am always eager to seize any opportunities that come my way. My empathy, creativity, and discipline are traits that I take great pride in. These qualities have motivated me to pursue a career in biochemistry. With numerous life-changing discoveries made in this field over the past decade, I am eager to immerse myself in research and to promote the importance of this amazing science to a wider audience, drawing on my unique background.In addition to my academic pursuits, I have also learned the importance of leadership competency and teamwork through my involvement in Sherborne School's student prefect body. As a passionate advocate for equality and diversity, I have taken part in various events such as Pride Month and Chinese New Year, where I have contributed through presentations, volunteering, and other activities. These experiences have taught me the value of celebrating our differences and working together as a team to achieve a common goal.
