I began my career in the maritime industry at the age of 15, working as a mate on a head boat out of Boynton Beach, FL during the summers. I haven't looked back since. I began charter fishing in Alaska after high school and fell in love with the atmosphere and community, as well as the adventure. Bringing smiles to my clients faces was the most rewarding aspect of the job. The Alaskan winters became a drag so I headed back to Florida in the winters, going back to Alaska to work the summers. While in Florida I found work on a head boat on the west coast and began a new adventure. A larger vessel with a capacity for 140 passengers became a new type of challenge. Working on this bigger boat I was able to upgrade my license to Near Coastal 100 Ton Master. Adventure called again and after my last season in Alaska I discovered the work boat industry in Louisiana. I had a blast running a 160' OSV all over the Gulf of Mexico and along the Eastern Seaboard to the Chesapeake. I was starting to understand that my career could take me so many places. The OSV began to receive contracts in the Bahamas as well as Florida, it was all I could ask for in a career. However, having met my now wife in Florida during one of my winters I had a desire to be home more, rather than being gone for a month or two at a time. II transitioned to a yacht technician role closer to home, enhancing my maritime skills and mechanical expertise. However, the call of the Pacific Northwest saw us moving to Seattle and Vancouver, WA, where I operated launch boats.Eventually, the importance of family and opportunities for my wife drew us back to Florida. There, I started an inshore fishing charter from scratch, cultivating a loyal clientele. This success led to my current position as a full-time captain of a private yacht—a role I cherish. Each day presents a chance to better both the yacht and myself.
