I have worked as a School Psychologist since 1996; first with Baltimore City Public Schools and currently with Fairfax County Public Schools. I earned a Bachelors of Science (B.S.) in Psychology from Old Dominion University; a Masters of Arts (M.A). and a Certificate of Advanced Study (C.A.S). in School Psychology from Towson University. I have taught multiple undergraduate psychology courses as an Adjunct Professor at both Northern Virginia Community College and George Mason University since 2000. I have taught Introductory to Psychology, Learning Theory, Tests and Measurements, Child Psychology, Personality Theory and Social Psychology.I am the sole founder of a running group in the Washington DC area called DC Capital Striders (www.dccapitalstriders.com). The group has approximately 15 to 20 weekly runs in the Washington DC metro region with membership exceeding 8,000 runners. The running group has volunteered at many races in the community, organized races for various charities including DC Central Kitchen, American Red Cross, High Cloud Foundation, Back on my Feet, Salvation Army, Wounded Warrior Project, and Special Love. We also have hosted a Holiday Lights Run each December since 2008 and have collected tons of toys for the Salvation Army Angel Tree Program and have given monetary donations to So Others Might Eat (SOME) and St. Jude's Cancer Research Hospital! I have completed five marathons since 2006, one Half Ironman, three 50K trail races and a 50 mile trail race, and am a RRCA Certified Running Coach training runners for races of all distances.I also was president of the Fairfax Association for School Psychology (FASP) for the 2011-2012 and 2012-2013 school years.
