About Richard Annan

Currently I am working as Head of Sales and Marketing with Edinburghs finest Care Home, Cramond Residence. After being made redundant a number of times within the motor industry i decided to move to a new sector and when offered an opportunity with Care UK i grabbed it with both hands as my mum was already living in one of their homes. I have been with the company for over 4 years and have found it one of, if not the most rewarding position i have enjoyed. In a very short space of time as the Customer Relations Manager i managed to fill my home and create a strong network within the area that now supplies us with a constant stream of enquiries and we now enjoy having a waiting list. I was soon moved to the Senior position where i now support all homes in Scotland and down as far as south of Birmingham.I have worked in marketing, mainly in the motor trade for over 35 years now and still love it as much today as i did all those years ago when newspapers were the biggest thing to advertise in and marketing agencies were gurus of the business. I have no official qualifications for marketing but found it a natural fit and seemed to understand and find solutions for clients quickly that worked and before long i moved from one manufacturer to another and a small group of motor dealers with very little budget to looking after over 56 dealer groups and a £5.5 million pound budget. This opened up a wealth of experience in all forms of media and now included sponsorship, events, outdoor and television. I excel in bringing companies together to work on like minded projects and love networking to uncover new opportunities and have met some super business connections through the years. I have been involved and set up a number of events over the years from planning and delivering car launches in showrooms for over 250 people to setting up Business Club meetings. I love working with others but i am just at home working on my own and still feel that for me, communication at all levels is the most important thing.
