Be prepared for short-notice, worldwide employment in support of Marine Air-Ground Task Force operations.I was selected by a board of senior officers (Colonels and Generals) to take command of a helicopter squadron. During my tenure the squadron never failed to meet a tasked mission using twelve, 30+ year old aircraft. We deployed and operated forward to Australia, South Korea, and the Philippines. I was responsible for:► Providing direct leadership, operational direction, and guidance to this 180 man organization producing superior results in a very fluid, complex environment overseas. ► Performance of six different departments to include Administration/ Personnel, Intelligence, Operations/Flight Planning, Logistics/Facilities, Safety, and Maintenance. ► Oversight of hundreds of millions of dollars in Marine Corps assets and directed a staff of 165.► Deploying and operating forward to Australia, South Korea, and the Philippines. ► Developing and providing Emergency Relief support (Typhoon Relief Effort) to the Philippines. Medium Tiltrotor Training Squadron 204 has the mission to train the world’s finest tiltrotor pilots, aircrew, and maintainers for the U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy, and Japan’s Ground Self-Defense Force. While I was still at the Pentagon and working on V-22 Manpower and Training issues, I was hand-picked to become the Executive Officer by the newly selected Commander.I assumed this position amidst significant turmoil after a highly critical, nationally aired television segment on “60 Minutes” followed a major V-22 accident that compromised the procurement and deployment of the entire fleet.The new CO immediately moved to restore staff morale. He simultaneously reached out to the V-22 manufacturers along with senior Government and Marine Corps staff. By positioning ourselves as neutral evaluators between the Marine Corps and the manufacturers, we revised the process of addressing issues and faults in an organized method. Today Osprey is the primary medium lift aircraft for the U.S. Marine Corps. In addition, Osprey squadrons are active in the U.S. Air Force & Navy, along with our Allies. As the Executive Officer, my responsibilities included:► Providing experience for the V-22 Squadron Training and Readiness (T&R) Review as well as the Manpower Expertise for personnel requirements.► Being selected to brief senior government officials on current state of the program, aircraft, and personnel issues.► Advising the Commanding Officer on administration, logistics, and maintenance issues.► Improving performance of ten V-22 aircraft in this 165-member Training Squadron.

Was selected for and promoted to Lieutenant Colonel while assigned. ► As a Major, I served as the maintenance officer for an overseas Special Operations Capable Composite Squadron with responsibility for up to 29 aircraft, 5 different types, and a department of 180 staff deploying multiple times to maritime shipping.► As a Captain, I was selected to be the senior aviator, Air Officer, for an infantry battalion and deploying with them for Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm.
