This environment featured a large number of customizations of several Oracle modules as well as the development of custom applications to meet the requirements of the ShopNBC business. The inbound order capture system, customer service and automated ordering system were custom applications - which was no the original intention. While not the norm for the shop at home business, ShopNBC utilized a well known (West Teleservices), off site, third party call center provider to handle all inbound order calls. The primary call center was located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana with a back up and overflow call center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.Call volume forecasts were communicated on a daily basis to help drive head count projections for each show for this 24 hour a day, live network. Regular and direct communication with both the principal account manager from West Teleservices as well as shift managers at the call centers was critical to meet the demands of a live, sales environment. The vendor was held accountable to predefined and agreed upon performance metrics such as talk time, average speed of answer, abandon rates and sales per hour.Major programming initiatives such as supporting NBC's coverage of the 2000 Winter Olympics as well as the re-branding from "ValueVision"​ to "ShopNBC" required coordinated training efforts across the entire vendor platform. This was accomplished through regular and consistent communication with all internal and external partners. In return for consistent leadership, West Teleservices delivered consistent, customer centered service that met or metrics driven expectations.This position reported directly to the Vice President of Customer Operations.In mid 2001, the organization determined that a major enterprise wide upgrade of the legacy systems was necessary. As this was an all encompassing project, I accepted the opportunity to serve as Project Manager for all inbound order entry, customer service, automated order entry development as the enterprise migrated to various modules of the Oracle Business Suite.
