The first pilot is fresh handline tuna exported to the Japanese markets which we piloted successfully in 2010. The problem is the processor cannot get enough Grade A Tuna. The fish handling after capture to shore is appalling so over heated, bent tuna arrived on shore as Grade C, only fit for shipment by pick up truck to Medan for canning. This is a terrible loss of value (whole tuna 50kg in Kumamoto market can fetch $100s). Fishermen are paid about $75 a fish. The shared value supply chain we are creating will include 100 plans for local fishermen to buy ice boxes for their canoes and marine mobiles, 10 plans for collection boat and FAD owners, 5 plans for local buyers Toke Bangku to set up mobile banking and traceability systems and an overall integrated plan for the processor to guarantee supply of Grade A Tuna. We hope the pyramid of plans will ensure value is shared to all thereby engaging sustainably with the market and poor families at the bottom of the pyramid.Vision - All levels of clusters supply chains in Aceh and Sumut can access markets and finance through online MSME business plans.MSME business plans are stored online at TA 8224 networking centre. Through collaboration of supporting organisations and consultants, MSME Business Plan versions are improved until published for investment and micro financial services support. Show less
