It is a key enabler for IGMS that delivers strong biometric identity matching capabilities using face and finger modalities and identity business processes for border management.The role necessitated the acquisition of biometrics expertise and providing the leadership to apply it to the NZ border immigration identity business process domain. It required the design of business processes for capture, quality management, matching, identity resolution when multiple matches occurred, management of identity relationships and the sharing processes to report and access the identity holdings. The business processes need to support populations for normal border movements as well as high risk 'watchlist' suspects. These processes also needed to support match and management behaviour for all permutations of matches over the dual populations, biographic matches and face and fingerprint matches.Biometric vendor management and participation in biometric capacity design was also a key aspect of the role during delivery. The role also provided scope to provide mentoring on general identity practice towards the project.
