An experienced academic with a background journalism, broadcasting and education. I've worked in and around radio since I was at University, as a broadcast assistant, a journalist and now a lecturer and researcher. I develop ideas, and help others to realise theirs. I have a strong team work ethic, and support those I work with. I ask questions, look for practical solutions and help to make things happen I have developed new modules, new programmes and new resources. I was solely responsible for the authorship of the application for our community radio licence, and I now support the team making the radio station happen every day. I am research active, with my interests focused on the relationships between radio and technology, and specifically how technologies create opportunities for content makers and listeners. This has led to publications on DAB, Visualised Radio and most notably on podcasting - where my work is one of the most referenced on the topic. I have worked regionally and nationally with the Radio Academy, and the Community Media Association and have spoken about my research at conferences in the UK, Spain, Portugal, The Netherlands and the USA.
