• He is dependable and reliable – he was able to deliver on all assurance projects that he lead for me and also went out of his way to do more. We met all delivery timelines and my clients were happy with his interactions with them and the quality of his work and deliverables.
• He shows initiative and is a problem solver – Richard continuously challenged the audit strategies followed to deliver on audits in prior periods and put forward suggestions for new and better ways of doing things. For audit issues he raised he also provided suggested solutions on how to resolve them and this made him a favourite with my clients.
• He is proactive and communicated very well– on all my assignments, Richard raised the IFRS, IAS and other audit issues that had to be considered for the client including the impact on the client. He also had conversations with the client regarding emerging changes in accounting standards and would bring challenges to my attention early enough to be dealt with to avoid crisis management.
• He is adaptable and learns quickly – When Richard joined my banking client team he took it upon himself to quickly learn the environment, added value and assisted the team in meeting timelines. In subsequent periods Richard lead the team to deliver on the audit.
• Works hard and demonstrates the stamina of the athlete that he is – at no point in time did I have to ask Richard to put in extra hours, he could assess the volume of work and commit himself and the team to putting in additional time to meet pre-set deadlines
He is demonstrates the right balance in his life, working hard when the job demands that he works hard and played hard when he gets the time to. He is fun loving and took time out to run road races when off work. He also worked very well with the team and supervised teams between 4 and 8 people and delivered. Feedback from team regarding his management skills was very good. Really enjoyed working with Richard and wish him luck in future endeavours.

He is extremely attentive and uses this to build strong relationships with peers, those he report to and anyone external from his immediate environment. He also learnt the different nuances to dealing with people who act and respond differently from how he might have done, and was privileged to have worked with excellent managers and mentors.
