With a diverse background that includes Computer Technologies, Stage Production Technologies, Facilities Management, Workplace Health/Safety, and Life-Long Learning I have a range of talents that adapts well to many environments.With over 15+ years of hands-on experience in Computer Technologies as an Independent Consultant, I know enough to realize that I can always know more. Through ongoing self-paced learning, I bring a strong foundation of knowledge that allows me to troubleshoot any problems that I come across and I am not afraid to say I am unsure but I will find the answer.Theatre has been a passion on and off all of my life. I have been able to grow and learn in many venues from a young age and on both sides of the curtain as a bonus. My time studying under not one but four Masters has given me a well-rounded experience with both hands-on work with professional shows as well as classroom time to build a solid foundation to work from.My interest in facilities management came as something as a surprise from my time working at Grant Memorial Church. The building is 150,000 square feet sitting on a large property and as I got comfortable with my job description I started to branch out to discover the challenge of coordinating all the elements of maintaining a large property was very engaging. As opportunities presented themselves I worked with the Building and Property Managers to gain experience in task coordination for maintaining all the building systems (HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing) to property care to Event Coordination. I am passionate in the area of Health and Safety industry. I completed my certification at Safe Work Manitoba in SAFE Committee Basics and Serious Incident Investigation from CCOHS. I saw firsthand the importance of health and safety to an organization while being on the Health and Safety Committee at Grant Memorial Church. I was responsible for writing a clear set of Health and Safety policies which included Safe Work Procedures, Fire Safety and Event Fire Code polices, and the Orders of Procedures Charter for the committee itself.I am a firm believer in Life-Long Learning who has demonstrated a strong initiative in cultivating knowledge from a variety of topics. I spend a large amount of time reading scientific journals in reaching my goals along with supplementary reading so I can also understand the finer details of a given study or article.Thank you so much for connecting with me!
