Passionate about stakeholder engagement and economic development and skilled in writing and communication, I have dedicated the last seven years of my career to supporting government and non-profit organizations through grant writing and grant management, bookkeeping and records management, financial analysis, economic and community development, and project coordination. At the same time, I worked to expand my knowledge by furthering my education, earning my MBA in December 2018 and a Graduate Certificate in Emerging Media and Digital Reporting in 2020. My unique blend of economic, financial, project management, and communication skills equipped me to achieve various goals in municipal and non-profit roles, such as these:☑ I secured a combined $14.5M+ in grant awards from federal and other sources. I identified grant opportunities, wrote grants, and reviewed submissions. My work often involved close collaboration with engineers and other technical professionals, as I translated technical jargon into compelling narratives that persuaded granting organizations to award significant funding. ☑ I fostered a partnership between the City of Calumet City and Purdue University Northwest for classroom projects, earning a positive reputation for the organization while securing low-cost student research support and supporting community connection.☑ I joined the Association for the Wolf Lake Initiative as an Intern and remained as a consultant focused on bookkeeping and financial reporting.
