I have a number of clients to whom I provide advice on the best ways to manage and operate their business, covering topics such as business strategy/planning; development of marketing plans; asset utilisation.My diverse range of clients includes a nationwide bulk liquid haulier, road tanker cleaning station operator, commercial window and door repair company, marketing consultancy and a sports trophy business.

My roles include business planning and development of the services offered by the group of companies owned by the shareholders.The companies specialised in two main area; the Europe wide sourcing and transportation of bulk liquid commodities, and the provision of clean, quality assured water supplies throughout the UK.

From their offices in the City of London, the Itech Group provides a range of products and services designed to provide their clients with a bespoke solution to their voice and data network requirements.Voice and data networks are the primary transport medium for business communication, and as such the quality and availability of the data network infrastructure is critical to any company trading on fast moving international markets.Itech ensures their clients’ compliance to directives on IT, systems, and operational processes. Their industry knowledge enables them to deliver outstanding growth and a comprehensive portfolio of solutions and partners, provides them with the platform to deliver flexible service packages that are built on an in-depth understanding of the business and technology requirements of financial institutions.

While the Commercial Director at Water Direct I was responsible for developing the organisation’s brand along with it’s product offering, which ranged from emergency water deployment, bottled water sales, contingency planning and alternative water supplies.This was achieved by creating a marketing plan for the business as a whole, and sub plans for each business stream. The plans were based around website SEO, ppc campaigns, social media and article submission, along with exhibiting at trade fairs and direct sales/marketing.Developing the contingency planning part of the business required a direct approach to a select number of companies, mainly in the financial and utility sectors. Contracts were secured via presentations and negotiations at senior management/board level.

Undertaking various consultancy based projects on behalf of a mixture of clients, my work was spilt between sales training roles, business planning and marketing. During this time I also worked part time for Hiremech, a Caterpillar dealer, where I closed new business (fork lift trucks).

As the Managing Director of this company, my duties included the management of two project managers, a book keeper, and up to 30 sub contractors.Weathershield was an approved installer of various window, cladding and roofing systems. Much time was spent developing relationships with representatives of these companies to ensure they specified my company as the preferred supplier/installer of their systems on certain tendered projects.I was responsible for the sales process and contract negotiations of all the projects undertaken, together with some on-site project management.
