Preparative scale purifications by Prep HPLC and SFC. Developed and executed methods for chiral and achiral separations. Also, isolated impurities below 1% as needed to support Analytical Development work.

Co-developed novel 5-HT6 antagonists and agonists, PDE10 antagonists, and PDE4 antagonists for use in CNS disorders. Assisted with patent examination and data gathering. Discussed assay’s results, designed new targets to try to solve main ADME problems. Performed chiral separations routinely and demonstrated enantio-selectivity of specific sub-series. Performed multi-step syntheses of small molecule heterocycles. Monitored reactions by HPLC/MS. Developed purification procedures for new compounds. Performed both aqueous work-ups, and modern purifications, including Preparative HPLC (Mass-directed and/or UV-directed collection), Super-Critical Fluid Chromatography and traditional flash chromatography. Experienced with Berger SFC Mini-Gram and Multi-Gram, Waters HPLC and ISCO flash chromatography equipment. Analyzed 1H NMR and LC/MS data routinely to determine purity and composition. Performed 2D 1H NMR and 13C NMR as needed to make correct structural assignments.

Performed multi-step syntheses of delivery agents primarily with PEG-derivatized small molecules. Analyzed Elemental analysis and assisted in NMR analysis to determine purity.Implemented policies and created forms for the inventory of department-made compounds. Responsible for dispensing compounds for testing. Contributed to selection of compounds for in-vivo and in-vitro assays.Member of Safety Committee, and ESP committee.Performed suspension polymerizations. Developed methods for TLC and column chromatography. Prepared and ran FT-IR samples. Used potentiometric tirations to measure percentage of carboxylic acids in polymers formed.
