The goal of Adirondack is not to "sell" beer to as many accounts as possible regardless of the business; we focus on the clientele of the establishment, and work to assure the strength of our product for their specific market. Working at Minogue's in Queensbury provided me with an oportunity to work directly with end consumers of beer. It allowed me to see exactly what the market demanded in Upstate New York and show me the specific target markets of each segment within beer sales, very interesting! I was also able to work with POS systems that I had never encountered before, and eventually train a number of employees on these systems. Tasks I was expected to perform frequently included: inventory, inventory variance, beer recommendations(I acted as the resident "sommelier"), and informing fellow employees on the craft-beer industry and specifics of each beer.
