I am a partner and a member of the firm's Labor and Employment and Litigation Departments with extensive experience in general civil jury and jury-waived trial work. Within that, I have specific concentrations in commercial, business and employment litigation. I represent clients in a broad range of industries including health care, professional services, high technology, industrial and manufacturing. In addition, My typical cases include defense of a wide range of employment claims as well as shareholder disputes, corporate dissolutions, intra- and inter-company disagreements, and intra-family business disputes. I am also frequently selected by litigants to assist in the resolution of their disputes as an independent arbitrator or mediator in a wide variety of civil matters. I am proud to be a member of the legal profession and have been very active in issues impacting the profession, the administration of justice and law and society in general. In that regard, I served as President of the Massachusetts Bar Association, the New England Bar Association and the Worcester County Bar Association. I was also appointed by Governor Deval Patrick and served on the Judicial Nominating Commission, which screens and evaluates judicial candidates prior to appointment. I also served for ten years as a Director of Massachusetts Legal Assistance Corporation, a statutory entity created by the legislature to oversee the funding and delivery of legal services to the poor throughout the Commonwealth.
