Starting in 1995, working as part of a small dedicated team, we started out with a home shopping app on a CD and ended up launching the world's first online supermarket rolled-out to over 300 stores. This e-commerce system would later be deployed in USA, Poland and South Korea.In this time, adding non-grocery categories, an ISP and white-labelled mobile telco all up with an annual turnover over £1bn. My role grew to become the Infrastructure Manager with responsibility for Network, Database, Servers, Security and Testing including managing the rollout of IT systems and infrastructure to 300 stores from the 26 trial stores.
